Power of Pottery Workshop

Our Power of Pottery Workshop is designed to foster mindfulness, boost wellbeing, and strengthen team dynamics among colleagues. Pottery not only ignites creativity but also offers numerous health benefits. Studies suggest that engaging in pottery can elevate happiness levels, alleviate anxiety and stress, and even alleviate stress-related discomfort.

Our workshop is tailored as a team-building experience, promising clear outcomes for both individuals and groups. Through this innovative and tranquil activity, team members forge connections in a relaxed environment, fostering open communication, a sense of camaraderie, and belonging.

During the session, participants will collaboratively design and craft ceramic artwork, that will be assembled together to make a team mascot masterpiece. This symbolic creation can reflect team strengths, values, or aspirations, serving as a tangible representation of unity to be proudly displayed.

Our pottery workshop teaches the technique of handbuilding. Handbuilding techniques involve shaping clay manually using methods such as pinching, coiling, and slab building. This approach allows for greater creativity without the need for a pottery wheel.

No previous pottery experience is required and complete beginners who have never worked with clay before can come away from the workshop having made something they can keep and show off to others.

Once completed the pottery will be taken away to be fired and glazed before being returned to the participants. Additional pottery glazing sessions are also available for groups to return to glaze their own work. Glazing adds colour, texture, and surface finish to pottery pieces, enhancing their visual appeal and functionality. Participants can experiment with different glazes and application techniques to achieve desired effects.
