About the club
Our surfing club offers a fantastic environment for people of any surfing ability - whether you're looking to try it for the first time or you're an experienced surfer!
Our club arranges regular surf trips, including local breaks to the East Yorkshire coastal town of Scarborough as well as trips abroad (last year we went to Morocco for a week in winter!) and our trips are open for any club member to take part in.
We also compete in the Newquay BUCS Competition which is always a good weekend away down south for the club.
LBSC has a very
laid back, friendly vibe. We do a range of fun activities as a club, including a weekly pub quiz in Headingley and a
monthly themed social night for all club members.
If you are part of our club you will get to travel abroad - surfing some of Europe's best breaks - and you can also socialise with like minded people and, of course, improve your surfing ability.
You can come see us at Leeds Beckett's Fresher's Fair on Wednesday 19th September at our Headingley Campus.
You will be able to sign up to the club at the fair and also find out when our first meet up is - which is where we explain to all of our new members what you can expect from being a part of LBSC.
If you can't make Fresher's Fair but still want to be a part of the club you can get in touch with us on social media - which you can find in the 'how to contact the club' section.
Obviously with surfing, we do require all of our club members to be able to swim - for your own safety - but the ability to surf isn’t required, as we’ve all got to start somewhere!
You will have the option to take up lessons on trips to Scarborough and any abroad trip that we will go on.
No equipment is required as everywhere we surf there will be the option of a rental company that will supply you with wetsuits, surfboards etc.
But owning your own kit will make life cheaper!
We have two trips abroad every year - one in summer and another in winter.
