BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology

Enscape - Hotel Interior

I would describe myself as a confident individual with the ability to work well in a team and just as well independently. I am currently studying Architectural Technology at Leeds Beckett University. I am in my third year studying part time as I also work in practise. I have currently been in practise for five years now. My main goals are to graduate and become a chartered member of CIAT.

I have always been interested in design and architecture. I was originally intending to study Architecture at university, however once I discovered Architectural Technology, I felt it was better suited to me as I really enjoy the problem-solving aspect and the fact that it is much more detail orientated.

As a result of working in practise part time, I have a great understanding of relevant legislation. I have also been involved with projects from early stage all the way through to completion. I have been involved with preparing planning applications and have produced a several Design and Access statements. I have become proficient in a variety of software such as AutoCAD, Revit, InDesign, Photoshop and have started to become familiar with Enscape. In practise I have worked in a variety of sectors including industrial, commercial and high rise residential.

Outside of work and university I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I also play rugby, which provided me with a good foundation of teamwork. I also enjoy travelling and hiking. Due to the pandemic over the past few years, I have been exploring the UK more, including North Wales, the Scottish Highlands and the Lake District in England.
