Read and mark Peer Reviews
Turnitin's PeerMark tools can facilitate students reviewing the work of their peers.
Before you start:
- First, create a Turnitin assignment.
- Then, set up a PeerMark assignment.
a. Navigate to the Submissions Inbox of the assignment you want to view PeerMark in.
b. Click PeerMark and then select PeerMark Reviews.
c. You will see a list of students, with columns for grade, submitted reviews, received reviews, and a review button.
d. To view reviews that a student has written, click the number in the student's row in the Submitted column.
e. A list of reviews that the selected student has written will open. Click the tick icon in the Review column to open a review.
f. PeerMark will open. The original submission displays in a document viewer to the left. A panel on the right contains the reviewer's answers to questions you set, and any comments they have left on the document. You can change the position of this panel by clicking Horizontal or Split, depending on the layout you are currently viewing.
g. The Questions tab allows you to see the questions you created in the PeerMark manager and the answers provided by reviewing students.
h. The Comments tab. You can see all the comments the reviewing student left for their peer. If you click on a specific comment, it will scroll the paper to the page containing the comment.
i. After the PeerMark due date has passed, a Grade box will appear above the Questions and Comments tabs. You can use this to enter and submit a mark out of 10 for the review. The mark for the individual review will be out of 10, but the overall grade for the reviewer is calculated based on all of their reviews and sent to a column in Grade Centre.
