BAFTA award winning Anita Pandolfo has 20+ years of experience as a professional writer for stage and screen. She is currently developing projects for TV and writing her first Feature film.

Anita co-created the award-winning police drama, The Cops (BBC), which won two BAFTAS and two RTS awards and original drama series Picking Up the Pieces (ITV). She has contributed as a writer to several established shows including Casualty, Holby, The Bill, Red Rock, The Mill, The Vice, Outlaws and was part of the original development team for Spooks.

Over the years, Anita has developed and written many original pilot scripts with various independent production companies. These include long running drama series, three-part thrillers, films, comedy half hours and an online comedy, in which she stared. She also wrote and directed a short film, Not So Super. There is a recognisable theme across her work, which she describes as, people politics and representing flawed, imperfect and misunderstood characters. Her Theatre Writing and Director credits include, Sugared Armour, Maids Of Suburbia and Penile Dementia.

Anita has fifteen years teaching experience. Her expertise is teaching the craft of screenwriting and generating story, with an emphasis on professional practices used in the Industry.

Research Interests

Anita's original practice centres on the adaption of her stage play Battle Cry, into a feature film. There is a recognisable theme across her work, which she describes as, people politics and representing flawed, imperfect and underrepresented characters.

Part of Anita's research entails, engaging with working class, predominantly female participants. The research impact is to measure if original, popularist storytelling can impact policy changes and affect audiences engagement with politics.
