Leeds Beckett hosts Visual Media Conference
This free one-day conference on 16 April is organised by Creative Digital Industries, a specialist interest group of the British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF).
The conference provides an in-depth insight into the changing world of marketing communications- this year the theme is innovation and sustainability.
The conference, Hosted by Nick Jaspan from Prolific North, will explore how businesses can adopt a sustainable perspective, compatible with innovation and a creative mind-set.
Speakers from the university include Olga Munroe, Head of the Retail Institute, who will focus on the fourth industrial revolution and the impact it is having on retail. Professor George Lodorfos, Dean of Leeds Business School, will take part in a panel discussion on the future of industry in a global context.
Robert McClements, conference curator and President of Creative Digital Industries (CDi) is a graduate of Leeds Beckett.
He said: “It’s nostalgic being back in the university setting and is a great venue for our annual conference. We have a great relationship with the Leeds Business School which is growing ever year.”
Leeds Beckett has a thriving programme of creative arts courses and is investing £80m in a new Leeds School of Arts building in the city centre which will host a variety of new facilities including a theatre and cinema.
