Best Paper Award - International Religious Tourism and Pilgrimage Conference 2019
Rev Ruth Dowson, Senior Lecturer in the UK Centre for Events Management has won a ‘Best Paper’ award at the 11th International Religious Tourism and Pilgrimage conference held at Singidunum University, Belgrade Serbia.
The conference celebrated papers presented by academics from 26 countries, including tourism, hospitality and events academics from six UK universities. Her award for her research paper on ‘The theological differences in approaches to the secondary use of churches for religious tourism and events’ was presented at the close of the conference gala dinner. This wonderful accolade adds to the award winning research conducted by many colleagues from the School of Events, Tourism and Hospitality Management at Leeds Beckett University.
