1. Attend your course induction

During Welcome, you should attend your course induction where you will meet your course team. You will find out more about your course, online teaching tools and resources, exams, assessments and feedback, as well as the wide range of support that is available to you as a student. Attending your course induction will help you understand what is expected of you and how you will study, it’s also a great opportunity to meet other people on your course.

Should you experience any difficulties accessing your induction timetable or attending induction sessions, please contact your Course Admin directly. You can find the details for your Course Administrator in your course handbook.

Your induction timetable

Your induction timetable details everything you need to do during your first week. You can view/download your timetable via Online Welcome.

2. Collect your campus card

Your Campus Card is your Student ID, for proving your student status as well as allowing you access to campus, university buildings and our libraries.

If you are a new student commencing your studies in January 2024, you should upload a suitable photo* to Online Welcome by Sunday 7 January 2024. If you do upload a suitable photo for your campus card prior to this deadline, international students will be able to collect their campus card from the Global Engagement Team at Rose Bowl level 1 and home students will be able to collect their campus card from their school's Admin Office.

If you do not upload a suitable photo to Online Welcome by Sunday 7 January, you will be issued a no-card slip by your school or the Global Engagement Team. If you are a Business student you will be issued an electronic no-card slip accessible via your student email. You can then visit the Student Services Centre with your no-card slip and have your photo taken to collect your card. Further details and information about suitable photographs can be found on our university Campus Card webpage.

If you are an international student, you will be required to complete international check-in before you receive your campus card. Further details can be found on our university International Arrivals webpage.

If you are a UK-based distance learning student, your school will arrange for your campus card to be posted to you. If you have not received this by February 5 please contact your Course Admin.

3. Access your timetable

Your teaching timetable will be available during Welcome. This provides full details of your lectures, seminars and other timetabled sessions, including the date, time, week number and venue and location. If your timetabled sessions are taking place online, you will receive instructions from your course team about how to access your teaching.

To access your timetable, log in to your virtual learning environment MyBeckett, and scroll down to click on the “Timetables” link or you can access your timetable via the Leeds Beckett app.

If you need help accessing your timetable on different devices or would like to sync your timetable to other calendars, you can find instructions here.
