Copy individual items

Copying content is useful for copying over specific content from other modules or course communities. You can copy individual content items to another module or community where you're the instructor. Please note that some content types, including Tests, require a different process.

Important: You must start in the module or community you're copying from.

For new content that you would like to copy into multiple modules or course communities, rather than copying you can use the Qwickly Course Tool in Tools link in MyBeckett.  Follow step 4. in this guide to find out how you can quickly complete this task.

a. Make sure that Edit Mode is switched ON.

b. Hover over the content item or folder that you want to copy. 

c. Click the action link next to the item, then click Copy.

d. In the Destination section, select a Destination Module from the drop-down list, then click Browse... to locate your destination folder.

e. In the Attachments and Embedded Links section, select the File Links option to Include links and make copies of attached and embedded files.

f. Click Submit.

a. Start in the module where you want to copy your test from. In the Control Panel, click Module Tools.

c. Select Tests from the list.

d. Click the circular action link icon to the right of the test you want to copy.

e. Click Export to Local Computer. This will export your test as a ZIP file.

f. When you have exported the test, go to the module that you want to copy the test to and go to  the Module Tools (Control Panel) then click Tests, Surveys and Pools.

g. Click on Import Test tab.

h. In the Test Import > Attach File section, choose Browse My Computer go to the Download folder and locate the Zip File (to select it double click).

i. Click Submit.  When the test upload is complete, a message will appear on screen.

j. You can then use the Module Management menu (bottom left) to open the imported test for editing. To do this, click Module Tools, then Tests, Surveys and Pools, then Tests.

k. Now you can add your test to a content area.

Quick steps are as follows:

a. Go to the Tools link in the main menu in MyBeckett.

b. Staff-  Qwickly Course Tool.

d. Choose Create Content.

c. On the left-hand side panel search and select your modules/course communities.

d. Choose content type: Item, File, External Link.

d. Type a Name and Description of the content you are to post.

e. Select a File from your Computer or OneDrive account (click on the relevant icon) or paste in the share link from OneDrive file.

f. Select Content Area: Now choose where in the module or course community the content should be placed. If each area is different then tick the Post to specific locations option, in the lists.

g. Click Submit.

NB: Only files such as PDF, Word, PowerPoint etc. can be attached.  (not possible to attach video or audio files please follow the guide on sharing video).
