Financing Your Studies

Your finances

Going to university is a big investment in your future. We realise when it comes to money you need to make sure you’re doing things right, so we’ve provided some financial information to help you get to grips with it.

Tuition fees and loans (UK and EU)

Tuition fees for most of our undergraduate courses for the academic year 2017/18 are £9,250 per year. Most students can take out a loan to cover this, which will be paid directly to your chosen university. You can apply for your loan online from Student Finance England. You don’t need to wait to receive an offer of a place before you do this. You’ll pay your loan back in monthly instalments once you’ve finished your course and you’ll only start making repayments once you are earning more than £21,000 a year. How much you pay back will depend on your earnings, as you will repay at nine per cent of income over £21,000.

Tuition fees (International)

For international students, fees for most of our undergraduate courses for the academic year 2017/18 are £10,500 per year. You are expected to pay a minimum of 50 per cent of your tuition fees before you begin your course.

Take a look at our international pages for more advice about tuition fees and finance.

Maintenance loans

Eligible full-time UK students can apply to Student Finance England for a loan to help cover their living costs such as accommodation and food. You will make your application when you apply for your tuition fee loan. For most students, how much you get will depend on your parents’ income. The money will be paid directly to you.

If you have dependants or a disability, you can also apply for extra financial support.

Scholarships

Through our scholarships programmes, we have helped Olympic-level athletes reach their sporting ambitions. We offer sports scholarships for students who compete in a variety of sports, including football, hockey, tennis and triathlon.

If you want to be a Leeds Beckett Sports Scholar, find out more and apply online on our Sports Scholarships page.
