We do not lack communication
On the contrary, we have too much of it
We lack creation
We lack resistance to the present
(Gilles Deleuze / Felix Guattari)

Nothing Worth Saving is an on-going project to catalogue my collection of graphic ephemera. The book masquerades as an exhibition catalogue, a tribute to the marginal and unattributed output of graphic workers producing vernacular ephemera: salt sachets in motorway service stations, waxed charcuterie wrappers, Icelandic liquorice sweet packets, handwritten Portuguese lunch menus. Usually discarded, these pieces of graphic design are explored within a context usually reserved for artefacts. With the impetus towards digital obsolescence and globalised standardisation, Nothing Worth Saving celebrates the vernacular and imperfect as an oppositional cultural practice.
