Leeds Beckett University become affiliate members of UNWTO

Membership demonstrates our engagement with policy-makers in leading institutions globally. The latest UNWTO AM newsletter (December 2018) carries among its articles one provided by the Head of our International Centre for Research in Events, Tourism and Hospitality, Professor Dorina-Maria Buda. Her article, entitled Tourism in times and places of socio-political turmoil, reflects aspects of her recent research.

Professor Rhodri Thomas, Dean of the School, explained:
“Our mission is to inspire and educate future events, tourism and hospitality leaders. To be successful in this aspiration we need to be rubbing shoulders with those most influential in the sector so that we understand contemporary challenges. The UNWTO clearly falls into that category.”
