Studying Physical Education

I am extremely passionate about studying Physical Education as teaching PE can help so many people in so many different ways. PE can facilitate and promote equal and fair learning with no discrimination or judgment, allowing all students to reap the benefits of teamwork through sport.

A dedication and passion for sport can provide so many fantastic opportunities for young people. Leeds Beckett University has such a prestigious reputation and has a really supportive learning environment for students wanting to make a difference in their chosen subjects.

My main goals are to gain more experience teaching and coaching and so far my first semester has given me so many opportunities.

With the support I’ve received from my course and the university I feel confident in reaching my goals, and I hope to one day pass on an opportunity like this to other students who have had similar experiences to me.

How will The Carnegie Class of 75-77 Scholarship help?

As a family we were affected quite badly during the COVID pandemic and because of this I have felt a weight on my shoulders asking for financial support from them.

Being awarded the Carnegie Class of 75-77 Scholarship has meant that I am now able to make the most of my university experience and has taken away a lot of my financial worries. This added support will help tremendously as I now no longer have to worry about the costs involved in going on a work placement to supplement my studies.
