Course Director

Dr. Pooneh Bagheri Zadeh is Course Director in Computer Science at Leeds Beckett University. Her current research covers Image/video processing, Computer Vision in AI drones, Intelligent system, Digital Forensics/Security, Image/Video Forensics, Mobile Forensics, Video Analytics, Super-Resolution and Hyper-Spectral Imaging.

Pooneh received her MSc and PhD degree from Glasgow Caledonian University in Computer Science (2004) and in Computer vision (2008) respectively. She continued her career in industry, working on real-time embedded video analytics systems. She then moved to De Montfort University, and worked as a senior research fellow on an EPSRC project in stereo vision and 3-D reconstruction. She then joined Staffordshire University as a lecturer in computer forensics and security and later as a senior lecturer at Gloucestershire University. She then join De Montfort University as Course Leader for MSc Forensic Computing for Practitioners.

Pooneh published more than 50 international conference and journal papers. She has successfully graduated two PhD students and currently supervising four PhD students. She also examined eight PhD and MPhil students from different universities in the UK.

Pooneh is currently External Examiner at London Metropolitan University in Computer Systems Engineering and Robotics and at Edinburgh Napier University in Digital Forensics and cybersecurity.

Research Interests

Dr. Bagheri Zadeh current research is in the area of Image and Video Processing and their applications, Computer Vision in AI Drones, Machine Learning and Deep Learning applications in object classification, Intelligent System, Digital Forensics and Cyber Security, Image and video Forensics, Mobile Forensics, Image and Video compression, all aspects of Video Analytics, Super-Resolution and Hyper-Spectral Imaging.
