Course Director

Chris is Course Director of BA Fashion Marketing and MA Fashion within the Leeds School of Arts.

Chris trained as a textile designer and worked in print for fashion and interiors for a range of clients. He has worked in Higher Education since 2002, having been a Programme Manager at the School of Design, University of Leeds prior to joining Leeds Beckett University in 2013. He wrote the courses BA Fashion, BA Fashion Marketing and MA Fashion and helped set up the fashion area within the Leeds School of Art.

As Course Director of BA Fashion Marketing, Chris is particularly interested in providing an education that is an excellent academic experience, but also gives graduates the professional skills and attributes necessary to gain employment in a range of roles within the fashion industry and marketing in general.

Chris teaches a range of modules on the course, specialising in visual communication. He also leads the Dissertation module in the final year of the course, and the visual communication pathway of MA Fashion.

Research Interests

Chris's research interests stem from his practice-based fine art PhD study Hiraeth Designing a Welsh Identity. Developing his research in repetition and prosodic structures in Welsh literature, his most recent work explores the notion of evolving simple geometric forms, and takes the form of digital drawing, stencil cutting and painting.
