Athletic Union

Who are we?

The Leeds Beckett Athletic Union has 40 sports clubs, and over 85 teams.

We have competitive teams who compete in BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) leagues, events and competitions, as well as several non-BUCS clubs who take part in various recreational and outdoor activities, including Tchoukball, Sub Aqua and Snowsports.

The Athletic Union is managed by the university's sports office team, and is governed by the Athletic Union Executive Committee and our sports clubs' committee members.

Regardless of your sports interest, the Athletic Union is here to help you have the best student sport experience during your time at Leeds Beckett.

Plus Icon Athletic Union Executive Committee Updates

Semester 1

The first semester has been an exciting time for Leeds Beckett Athletic Union. Despite our marginal loss at Leeds Varsity, the University has picked up some impressive results over the first 3 months of the BUCS season with us sitting just outside the Top 10 in the country at the moment.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to welcome Jane Feenan to the Athletic Union Executive Team who fills the position of Vice President for Campaigns. As part of the Athletic Union Executive Committee it is our mission to try and improve student experience within Sport and Active Lifestyles. We therefore want to hear your views on how we can help improve student sport at Leeds Beckett. What things can we improve on? What things do we do well? Do you have any ideas that could help the clubs that you are part of? If you have any views you can email me at j.schofield7273@student.leedsbeckett.ac.uk or alternatively you can message the Athletic Union Exec Instagram Account where Megan, Jane or I will get back to you.

Thank You and good luck for all of your events in second semester – let’s push on and make the Top Ten this year!

Joshua Schofield
Leeds Beckett Athletic Union President
