Biomedical plaudits for Leeds Beckett
IBMS accreditation is awarded to courses that meet the academic requirements to cover the standards of proficiency for biomedical scientists and our dual accreditation means that students are well-prepared for industry.
Dr Wayne Roberts, Course Director for Biomedical Sciences in the School of Health at Leeds Beckett University, said: “This new accreditation means our students are being supported in their future careers in Biomedical Sciences.
"We have also appointed state registered clinical practitioners to teach on our courses alongside our qualified academics. This allows our students to benefit from the first-hand experience these staff have of being Biomedical and Clinical Scientists.
"These newly appointed staff will help provide career guidance for those wishing to follow these routes, and will help ensure we continue to teach a curriculum relevant to the health care sector.”
Leeds Beckett continues to invest in its students facilities and has recently opened a brand new £750,000 biomedical sciences research laboratory.
