Leeds Beckett supports Pride
Rob Moore, IT Procurement manager and member of the Rainbow Rose Forum, said: “Once again Leeds Pride was a spectacular celebration of diversity and it was amazing to be a part of it with colleagues and students.”
“Pride represents significant progress towards a truly tolerant society, but it is important that we continue to reflect upon the sacrifices that have led us to this point, and that we remember that there are still countries where this freedom does not yet exist.
“As a diverse and progressive higher education community we have a responsibility to supporting this continuing journey, and Pride is a truly uplifting way to do this.
The university has taken part in the city’s Pride parade celebrations since 2014 as a visible statement to our commitment to worldwide love and equality.
Over 130 floats took part in the parade this year, making it the biggest parade Leeds Pride have hosted.
The university was joined by organisations such as the First Direct Arena, Asda and Leeds City Council in showing their support for the biggest celebration of LGBTQ* life.
