Gender Forum supports International Women's Day

A pop-up book stall celebrating women authors is in place on Tuesday 10 March next to the Student Hub on Headingley campus. Students and colleagues are invited to take a book or exchange one. There is also a free book stall in Humanities on floor two at Broadcasting Place.

Last week 100s of purple postcards were given to students and colleagues featuring Shailja Patel's International Women's Day poem:

Read women.

Cite women.

Credit women.

Teach women.

Publish women.

Present women.

Acknowledge women.

Award women.

Amplify women.

Hire women.

Support women.

Promote women.

Hear women.

Believe women.

Follow women.

Pay women.

Pay women.

Pay women.

Recipients were invited to keep the poem or give it to someone who needs it. Please support the event by picking up, reading and passing on the postcards if you come across them. If you tweet about it, please link to the poet @shailjapatel
