Northern Film School students win three prizes at RTS Yorkshire's Student Awards
Students from the BA Filmmaking and MA Sound Design courses secured the Drama, Short Form, and Animation Craft – Sound awards.
Matteo Palmas, Millie Anderson, Willem Evans and Philip Schroeter scooped the highly-coveted Drama award for Argot, a film based around a young man’s journey to track down his long lost father.
Footfalls by Hai Di Nguyen, Patrick Dunn, Ava Jenkinson and Massimiliano Borghesi was commended by judges as “evocative and deeply affecting” after winning the Short Form award.
Meanwhile, Tobias Gavelle walked away with the Sound Design – Animation award for Tulip and Janis, a love story that he also wrote the script for.
Annabelle Pangborn, Head of Subject at the Northern Film School, said: “It was an incredible evening for all of our students involved.
“Congratulations to all of our amazing students, alumni and staff.”
The RTS will now enter Argot and Footfalls into the National Student Awards, which will be held in London later this year.
