Flat caps in place for Yorkshire Sport Relief Mile
Students and staff formed up on the athletics track at the Headingley Campus on a, thankfully, snow free day. Some donned flat caps to accessorise their running outfits with something Yorkshire-themed to localise the national event.
Donating to take part in the event, they not only got fit and had fun, but also raised money for the worthwhile charity by either running or walking the mile.
Organiser Dr Andrew Manley, Head of Subject for Sport and Psychology at the Carnegie School of Sport, said: “I want to thank everyone who came to take part for making our first ever Yorkshire Sport Relief Mile a success. We raised money for a great cause and had some fun. We hope to make this an annual event.”
The grand total raised by Sport Relief stands at over £38million with money going to support projects here in the UK and across the world.
