Meanwhile, Ethan Hussey, who trains with LBU Head of Athletics Andy Henderson, was recognised as the Young Sportsman of the Year.
Sally Griffiths, Director of Sport & Active Lifestyles at Leeds Beckett, said: “Congratulations to all of our winners and nominees at this year’s Leeds Sports Awards.”
“The event was a remarkable evening for our students, graduates and coaches who were recognised for their hard work and success over the last twelve months and the university is proud of their achievements.”
Dean of the Carnegie School of Sport Peter Mackreth said: “Carnegie School of Sport was proud to be an associate sponsor of the awards, including the student sport category which saw our student Alex Yee claim the top individual prize for his success in last year’s World Triathlon Series.
“I’d also like to congratulate Carnegie School of Sport graduate David Stone on claiming the Disability Sportsman award ahead of an important Paralympic year.”
