Sociology is the discipline for our time – we only need to step outside our doors to see how society is changing and how this is affecting people differently. Sociology is the discipline which equips you with the skills and perspectives to examine these changes and think about how they’re impacting on our everyday lives.
You'll learn to think like a sociologist from Day One. You'll discover what you already know, and re-assess what and how you think. Through learning, projects and placements, you'll identify and address issues in the workplace and society. And you'll discover innovative techniques and ideas that will help you address them.
I think it is vital that we know how our lives are shaped by (often hidden) ideas and assumptions which are built into social structures, technologies and organisations. I believe that we can only improve society, and make our lives better, by understanding how these things influence us.
