Share your expertise and develop future talent

There's lots of activities you can engage with us to raise your profile and support our students in becoming employable graduates.

We take time to understand the employers we work with; it's important we know what you are looking to achieve through engaging with the university, and we always consider how we can best support you in meeting your aims. This often takes us beyond the focus of immediate vacancy advertising and in to exploring how we can raise awareness of your organisation and sector, and the career pathways on offer.

Developing talent for the future

Developing the employability of our students and preparing them for the future world of work is central in all aspects of our teaching and learning. With the help of employers, we support our students to build on their own understanding of the opportunities open in the graduate job market, across multi-sectors and organisations; facilitating connections to industry where the demand for graduate talent is high and providing enriching experiences that support them in making a confident transition beyond Leeds Beckett.

Engaging in curriculum

We work with employers looking to connect to specific course programmes and subject areas and we can help facilitate relationship building with academic staff who will be able to talk to you about ways to get involved in course delivery. You might be interested in delivering a guest lecture on a specific topic, student sponsorship and prizes, being a mentor, and facilitating live projects for students to work on as part of their programme.

Presenting your organisation

Talking about the work your organisation does, and sharing your experience and expertise provides a real and first-hand insight for our students and graduates. It's an integral part of their career development learning.

Maybe you have practical knowledge and advice you can share on getting into the sector, or great networking links, or tips on how to make the best application. We can help you share your expertise through our digital events and online platforms, which explore sectors and organisation profiles.

We're always keen to explore ways in which we can provide new and inspiring opportunities, and we look forward to talking to you about your ideas, so please get in touch to start the conversation.

Innovation in employability learning

Across all our course programmes, and at all stages in their studies, our students are developing core attributes that enable them to make an impact in work. To enhance that further, we work closely with employers from a range of backgrounds to share industry insights and training that recognises the unique skills and knowledge that link to specific sectors. Through doing so, we connect you to talent from a wide range of subject backgrounds that brings diversity of thinking and approach.

We call these ‘Professional Development Programmes’ and currently deliver a number of these connected to Digital and Technology, Marketing, Sales and Business Development and Social Impact. We work collaboratively with employer partners to define content to ensure they remain current, meet the skills needs now and are informed by the latest thinking and industry practice.

We also deliver a programme open to all our students, aimed at exploring leadership in practice and growing their own leadership potential, and our 'Women in Leadership' programme is award nominated and there are a range of ways in which employers can engage and participate.
