Meet our students at a careers event

Connecting with our community at a careers event is a great way to raise your profile and provide our students and graduates with their first step into a new career.

Throughout the year, we work with our employer partners to help connect you to our student and graduates. Our events and programmes provide an opportunity to:

  • Share your roles
  • Raise your company profile
  • Network with future talent

We work flexibly to adapt to the needs and timescales of employers and the changing demands in the job market.  While we plan for our larger scale events and programmes, we continue to develop and add to these throughout the year.

To register your interest in taking part in careers events, and share your ideas for further opportunities, please complete our Beckett Careers - Activities and Events 2022/23 form.

Opportunities to build experience and earn as you learn

Students look for opportunities that can fit around their studies, and flexible paid work is in high demand.  Throughout the year we promote part-time, placement, internships and volunteering in a range of ways, including events such as jobs fairs, pop-up stands and networking activities.

Diverse and Inclusive workplaces

Our student body is diverse. 95% are state school educated; over a third from the most disadvantaged neighbourhoods; a quarter are from Black, Asian and Minoritised Ethnic backgrounds and a fifth declare a disability. If you are looking to engage with diverse student and graduate talent then we have a range of activities and events, as part of our Elevate programme, that we can explore with you.

Making a great application

We run regular application support sessions that prepare students and graduates to share their experiences with confidence.   These include workshops covering CVs, interviews, Linkedin profiles and psychometrics.  We host mock assessment centres – digitally and on campus too.  We value the insights employers can add to these sessions and we welcome employers to share their hints and tips from an industry perspective.

Spotlighting the future world of work

Exposing students and graduates to the fast-moving job market and understanding career pathways within sectors, brings together a range of activities.  This has included panel and insight events, that spotlight on; careers in digital and tech, public service, finance and analytics, social impact, media and working with children and young people.  This also includes our programme of support for enterprise and freelancing pathways.

Getting ready for graduate life

This series of events is designed to support our final year students and recent graduates as they complete their final year at university or take their next steps after graduation. We’ll offer advice around application support, career decision making and industry insights to help students prepare for graduate life.  These also provide an opportunity to promote immediate and upcoming job opportunities.
