In addition to your tuition fees you will also have to budget for your living expenses. The costs below are estimates of how much you will spend over the academic year, although every student is different.

The University has some great information on how to finance your studies or if you would like to speak to someone over the phone, there is a Student Money Advice team who can give you confidential specialist advice about student funding and can also help with general advice about budgeting, debt and welfare benefit entitlement.

Money Saving Ideas

Student Discount 

Don’t forget, as a student you can use your student card to get a discount at a number of high street stores. NUS Extra Cards can be purchased online or on campus at the Student's Union - City Campus or the Postal Services and Merchandise Shop - Headingley Campus. Cards bought online are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, cards bought on campus are valid until August 2016. 

Money Saving Expert 

Money Saving Expert is full of great money saving guides, vouchers and discounts. They send out a weekly email full of the latest offers and there is an active forum - there's even a section dedicated to Student Money Saving

Discount Websites 

Once you have your student email address you'll be able to sign up to discount sites full of student offers where you can get discounts on food, entertainment and fashion retailers such as Asos, Topshop/Topman, Dominos and Waterstones to name a few.
