Christopher Wolsey

Principal Lecturer

Chris is a Principal Lecturer within the Carnegie School of Sport at Leeds Beckett University. He has held a number of senior leadership and management positions within the university and is the author of several articles, chapters and books specialising in sport business management, with particular reference to issues pertaining to human resource development. Current teaching and research interests include business coaching, emotional intelligence, student engagement and action learning.

Current Teaching

Teaching involves all 3 levels of our undergraduate provision and, also, teaching on the Masters Degree in Sport Business. Current modules include L4 Enterprise & Research, L5 Work Based Learning, L6 Professional Management Consultancy Skills, L7 Human Resource Management & Development for Sport Managers. In addition, Chris is involved with supervising the individual research studies of both our Undergraduate and Masters students.

Research Interests

Current research centres around two main areas, namely student engagement & Human Resource Development issues within a sporting context. Recent outputs include a conference paper, looking at research into student engagement (given to the HEA STEM conference in Manchester, February 2017) and the submission of a book chapter for the forthcoming 2nd Edition of 'Managing the Business of Sport',(Edited by David Hassan).
