The Triathlon and Cycling club caters for any University student who would like to have a go at a multi-sport event such as a Duathlon (Run/Bike/Run), Biathlon (Swim/Run) or Triathlon (Swim/Bike/Run). There are various distances for each of these events and are therefore accessible to anyone who is willing to put in some regular training. As part of the Leeds Triathlon Centre, the club train alongside the likes of the Brownlee brothers and under the expertise of Malcolm Brown MBE & Jack Maitland.
The triathlon and cycling club is organised into two training groups; a performance group of elite level triathletes and a development group. The latter group is open to all students including those that are new to triathlon. The club also enters into cycling events including Hill Climbs, Cyclo-cross, Mountain-biking, Road-racing and Time-trialling. There are seven coached sessions each week that are open to all members and we regularly travel to compete in BUCS and open events.
