About lacrosse

Get involved

Originating from Native Americans, the team sport uses sticks to manoeuvre a small rubber ball between players in order to score past a goalkeeper.

The rules of mens' and womens' lacrosse vary greatly, with mens' seeing full contact and with that, a range of protective equipment, and womens' being semi-contact. With two women’s teams and one men’s team, there are a number of opportunities to compete and represent Leeds Beckett.

Our 'Clean Sport' commitment

All sporting participants have the right to compete in drug-free sport (Clean Sport). Leeds Beckett University adopts the UK Anti-Doping and World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) position that cheating, including doping, is fundamentally contrary to the spirit of sport, undermining the otherwise positive impact it can have on society.
