Sports Treatment Centre
The centre provides a sports massage clinic and a sports injury teaching clinic led by Sports & Exercise Therapy students under the supervision of qualified members of staff during semester times. If your muscles are aching or stiff, intense exercise can lead to a build-up of lactate within your muscles, causing them to hurt. A free sports massage from the massage clinic following exercise can help to ‘flush’ away the lactate, meaning your muscles hurt less and you recover quicker. Or, if you have been injured, are recovering from an injury, need guidance and advice on injury management, then book an appointment to come along to one of our injury clinics.
The massage clinic operates a drop-in service, and is free to all students and staff on a first come first served basis. There is no need to book in advance.
The Sports Injury Treatment Clinic
Our aim is to enhance the sporting performance of our students by offering free sports injury management advice and treatment. For the Sports Injury Treatment Clinic (SITC) appointments only you ideally need to book in advance by calling 0113 812 9186 or email email@example.com.
To access these clinics you must either have a Sports Membership, be a member of staff or be a member of the Athletic Union. The service is open to both students and staff. You will need to produce your membership/staff card prior to treatment.
The Clinic operates during term time, please see the timetable below for more details.
