Students’ designs shortlisted for Ebbsfleet Garden City development
Luke Szokalski and Robert Hilton, who both studied for a masters degree in Landscape Architecture at Leeds Beckett, have submitted their designs for Ebbsfleet Garden City in Kent, which will see 15,000 new homes built with seven new city-scale parks and landscapes.
Luke and Robert’s designs were created to exploit the natural landscape in order to make Ebbsfleet Garden City an active place, which encourages healthier lifestyles.
Sarah Mills, Head of Architecture in the Leeds School of Arts at Leeds Beckett, said: “I am delighted for Luke and Robert and extremely proud that a Leeds Beckett design has made it to the final three.
“Ebbsfleet Garden City is a thriving and busy community, and it would be great to see our designs used by such a large community of people on a day-to-day basis.”
The winning design of the international competition will be announced on 4 July at an awards ceremony at the Garden Museum in London.
