Leeds Beckett Graduate is Women's Footballer of the Year
Lucy Bronze, who has played for the England Team and now plays for Olympique Lyonnais, studied BSc (Hons) Sports Studies at the Carnegie School of Sport at Leeds Beckett. She graduated in 2013.
Speaking about the award, Pete Mackreth, Dean of Carnegie School of Sport, said: “It’s fantastic to see Lucy winning this much deserved award. It’s testament to her hard work and dedication and she is an inspiration to a new generation of players. It’s great to know that Leeds Beckett and the higher education sector has played a part in her journey.”
Ian Smyth, Sports Development and Coaching Manager, added: “Lucy played for the university team, and her class and talent were obvious for all to see. She showed great commitment to the university, and demonstrated great leadership both on and off the field of play.”
