- Mission Himalaya Showcase
Join us at Leeds Beckett this February as we showcase and celebrate the achievements of wounded, injured and sick serving military personnel and veterans
Mission Himalaya Showcase
Leeds Beckett University, Carnegie Great Outdoors and The Royal British Legion
On 26 October 2018, a team of wounded serving military personnel and veterans, led by Carnegie Great Outdoors and The Royal British Legion, embarked on a mission across the Himalayas, with one of their aims – to reach the summit of Mera Peak 16 days later - on Remembrance Day and the Centenary of the end of WW1.
Now, three months on, some of the team are reuniting at Leeds Beckett to talk about their mission, what inspired them to accept the challenge and how they feel now. As well as hearing from the team, you will have the opportunity to share their experience in our exhibition, which showcases images taken by team members and learn about the research surrounding the expedition. You can even support The Royal British Legion by buying one of the images and take a little piece of the adventure home with you.
The exhibition is open from 15:00 - 20:00 with the talk commencing at 18:00. Both of these inspiring events are free of charge, you do not need to book to visit the exhibition, however you must book to secure your place at the talk.
