Placements

Placements at Leeds Beckett

A placement is a partnership between a student, an employer and an education provider. It can be a fantastic opportunity to gain a realistic view of how working life might be once you graduate, while growing your professional network. As a placement student, you have the chance to develop your skills in a workplace setting and learn valuable new skills, helping to develop your employability.

Here a few of the key benefits that a placement can provide:
• A range of work-related skills.
• A network of industry contacts.
• A chance to apply your academic skills to a real-life work environment
• A year of paid work.
• Experience of applying for jobs.
• Assessment towards final year modules.
• A job offer on completion.

Here at Leeds Beckett, we offer a variety of placement opportunities. In some areas, such as health, social care and education, placements are a statutory part of training to become a professional. In other courses, placements may be of a year’s duration, or shorter work based learning elements. You will receive ongoing support from the university throughout the duration of your placement.
We work in partnership with a wide variety of employers to provide you with high-quality placements across a range of sectors. Previous placement students have worked with global companies including O2, Disney, the BBC and Microsoft.
