responding to a national and international health priority
Dementia is a national and international health priority. The number of people living with dementia is set to increase as the population ages.
Leeds Beckett’s Centre for Dementia Research facilitates a cross-disciplinary research community. It supports the conduct of applied dementia research leading to improvements in the lives of people living with dementia, and those providing care and support to them. The centre has membership from across the university and a portfolio of internationally recognised dementia research across six themes:
- Dementia education and training
- Dementia assessment diagnosis and post-diagnostic support
- Dementia and social care
- Dementia and acute hospitals
- Dementia and comorbidity
- Brain health, community support and engagement
